SACRED MEDICINES

Plant Medicines for Conscious Healing

Reciprocity is our centerpiece

RECIPROCITY

IS OUR CENTERPIECE

Founded in 2020, Sacred Medicines is a Public Benefit Corporation (PBC), working in conjunction with traditional healers to help people benefit from the conscientious use of whole plant medicines such as Ayahuasca Tea.

We honor the wisdom of the indigenous peoples and their medicines; namely, the importance of reciprocity. Sacred Medicines is currently developing several reciprocity initiatives supporting indigenous programs.

OUR WORK

We envision a world where Ayahuasca Tea, in conjunction with integration therapy, is safely and legally available for those that desire it; where research is governed by rigorous scientific risk and benefit evaluation, with honor and respect for indigenous wisdom and culture.

We imagine a future when psychedelic natural medicines are fully integrated into American and European mainstream medicine.

SUPPORT

As a Public Benefit Corporation, Sacred Medicines mission and financial viability are both important to us. Our mission is to develop whole plant medicines for the treatment of psychiatric and neurologic conditions as we believe that psychedelic medicines can help heal the world. Therefore, we are developing Ayahuasca Tea through the FDA as a botanical drug.

PROTECTING SACRED PLANT MEDICINES

There is concern that the B. Caapi and P. Viridis growing in the Amazon basin forests are being over harvested.  Plant growth sustainability will be favored by the growing and harvesting in protected farms providing a source of revenue for farmers.  Such farming, already in place in Hawaii, may alleviate overuse and depletion of sacred plants that is taking place in the Amazon basin.

AYAHUASCA TEA FDA PATHWAY

In order for a drug to be sold as medicine in America, a sponsor company must meet the Federal Drug Administration’s requirements for proof of being both safe and effective. Even though Ayahuasca has been used by humans for hundreds of years, it is still important to answer these questions within the framework of modern science.
